How do you get to moo?

A.

although our address is 4885 truxtun ave., there is no longer access to moo from truxtun, due to the newly built westside parkway. the only way to get to moo is from truxtun, south on commercial way, then east on commerce, which will loop around to the back of the parking lot. sorry for the inconvenience!

where do you get your buns and bread?

A.

all of our brioche buns are made in house daily by our pastry cooks, juan and merit. our brioche loaves, wheat loaf bread, ciabatta, olive bread and flatbread are also made at moo daily. we purchase our rye bread is purchased from european bakery and our sourdough and multigrain our purchased par-baked from la brea bakery.

do you have a gluten free menu?

A.

we have menu gluten-free options here at moo. we make our own gluten-free buns, which can be substituted on any sandwich or burger. we offer gluten-free batter for onion rings, zucchini, fish ‘ n chips, etc. we also can make any of our burgers or sandwiches “salad-style” upon request! (note – we do not work in a gluten-free facility.)

why the name “moo”?

A.

richard flipped through a magazine and saw the word “moo.” since we were doing ice cream (dairy) and burgers (beef), we joked that it might be a cute name. we mentioned it to our friend, ashling, who immediately designed our logo. the logo was done, we fell in love with the name – – it just stuck

why can’t I get a tomato on my burger in January?

A.

we try to use seasonal produce as much as possible. we like to support local farmers and the fact is, local produce just tastes better. out of season tomatoes from Chile (which is what you find at the grocery store), are picked under-ripe and become mealy during the process of packing and moving over and over again before making it to the final destination. come to moo in august/september and we promise to give you the best BLTA you have ever had.

how many locations do you have? are you planning to open any additional locations?

A.

moo creamery on truxtun opened on december 24, 2008. we have our hands full right now, but we are always looking for new opportunities to expand.
